Sisi was editor in chief at The Markup when it merged with CalMatters in 2024. She created and filled the new position of chief impact officer at CalMatters, overseeing the audience, data and product teams, all with a goal of making sure the journalism reaches the people who would find it most useful. She was previously co-executive director of OpenNews and assistant managing editor at ProPublica, where she oversaw several editorial teams and managed large, interdisciplinary investigations, one of which won the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting in 2020. In 2021, IWFM awarded Sisi the Gwen Ifill Award, which recognizes an outstanding woman journalist of color whose work carries forward Gwen’s legacy. Sisi also serves on the board of News Revenue Hub.

Kristen Go is the editor in chief of CalMatters, overseeing a team of 65 journalists statewide. She previously worked as the executive editor and vice president of news at USA TODAY and managing editor of digital at the San Francisco Chronicle, and has worked at The Arizona Republic and The Denver Post. She grew up in California’s Central Valley and lives in the Bay Area. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno.

Neil leads CalMatters as its chief executive officer, overseeing California’s largest nonprofit news organization and one of the biggest newsrooms in the state. He was formerly executive editor at The Mercury News and the East Bay Times, where his team won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting. He worked as a journalist at the San Francisco Examiner, Arizona Republic, CBS MarketWatch and The New York Times and served on the boards of LION Publishers and UNITE-LA. He’s a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he was editor in chief of The Michigan Daily.
