Will supports newsroom leaders in developing and operationalizing strategies that maximize impact on the communities they serve.

He joined the American Journalism Project from the Asian American Journalists Association, where he served as director of programs and partnerships, leading national leadership initiatives and student journalism programs. Previously, Will was editor-in-chief of Street Sense Media, a nonprofit newsroom based in Washington, D.C., where he oversaw coverage of homelessness and poverty and spearheaded the development of the first national guide to reporting on homelessness.

Before entering journalism, Will spent 11 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, leading teams during overseas deployments to Afghanistan and the Asia-Pacific region. He holds graduate degrees in creative writing and journalism. He currently serves on the National Advisory Board for the Poynter Institute for Media Studies. Will is based in Washington, D.C.
