Heidi Zheng

Heidi creates and operationalizes knowledge assets that benchmark growth of the American Journalism Project’s portfolio, tell data-driven stories of our collective impact, and inform programmatic strategy.

Prior to joining AJP, Heidi was a senior program associate at Energy Foundation, leading grant-making, coalition building efforts, and voter education campaigns in the Midwest. In graduate school at the University of Chicago, she conducted ethnographic research for her master’s thesis on communities of practice and participatory media.

A native of Northeast China and Northeast-ish U.S., Heidi now lives in Chicago with her husband, Peter, where they once ran a used bookstore.
