Heidi Zheng
Data Strategy & Operations Lead
Heidi stewards the American Journalism Project’s ever-evolving data infrastructure to inform our strategy, drive cross-team collaboration with actionable insights and measure our impact. A systems architect, she operates fluidly across executive advising, financial analysis and process refinement to enable sustainable growth across the portfolio.
Prior to joining AJP, Heidi led grant-making, coalition-building efforts and voter education campaigns in the Midwest. In graduate school at the University of Chicago, she conducted ethnographic research on communities of practice and participatory media.
A native of Northeast China and Northeast-ish U.S., Heidi now lives in Chicago, where she once ran a used bookstore with her husband.
