Tina Dyakon
Vice President, Growth Investments
tina@theajp.orgTina oversees a portfolio of our growth investments, serving as a strategic partner to news organization leaders as they maximize their organizations’ performance and impact. She also helps to scout new investment opportunities for the American Journalism Project and contributes to the development of our venture support strategies.
Prior to joining the AJP team, Tina was a senior director for the nonprofit Poynter Institute where she created their experience and events division after tenure as the Institute’s marketing director and advertising director. Prior to working for Poynter, Tina led strategy, operations, business development, advertising and marketing efforts at local news, destination marketing and advertising agency organizations.
She lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, with her daughter and their two pugs, Lumpy and Leo. In her downtime, Tina enjoys sailing, strength training and traveling to new destinations.
Tina serves as a Success Partner to El Paso Matters, Fort Worth Report, Mountain State Spotlight, San José Spotlight, VT Digger, Charlottesville Tomorrow, The Salt Lake Tribune and The Colorado Sun.
Success Partners provide close support to our portfolio organizations over the course of their grant and serve as their advisor and main liaison to the American Journalism Project.
