Our supporters

Our work is powered by people who believe in the future of local news.

The work of the American Journalism Project is made possible by the generosity of our supporters. We’re grateful for their partnership in building a strong future for local news.

About our supporters

Our supporters include philanthropic individuals, family foundations, institutional funders and corporate partners — all who see the urgency of the crisis facing local news, and share our vision for sustainable independent nonprofit local news. As we pursue this mission to establish and sustain local journalism as a public good, we are thankful to have these donors and partners alongside us. The list below includes supporters who have given $5,000 or more since our launch in 2019 — and with more than 1,200 funders to date, we’re grateful for every dollar donated.

Policies

The American Journalism Project is guided by the same principles of transparency and independence as our grantees, who adhere to the ethics and standards of the Institute for Nonprofit News.
