Darrin Kerr
Head of Growth Investments
darrin@theajp.orgDarrin serves as the head of growth investments of the American Journalism Project, overseeing our portfolio of growth investments and leading our work to partner with the leaders of our grantee organizations as they maximize their impact. He also leads our work to identify new investments of the American Journalism Project.
He has more than 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently serving as the head of network learning at Teach For All, where he led the organization’s mission to connect and accelerate the learning of its 60 network organizations and over 100,000 teachers and alumni. Previous to leading Teach For All’s Network Learning function, he led Teach For All’s efforts to support the growth of its partner organizations resulting in a compound annual growth rate of 21% from 2010 to 2020. He also worked at Teach For America and taught as a corps member of Teach For America in the Bronx of New York City. He currently serves on the board of directors for Spotlight PA.
Darrin is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia’s School of Journalism and holds a master’s degree in education from Pace University. He lives in New York City.
Darrin serves as a Success Partner to THE CITY and Houston Landing.
Success Partners provide close support to grantees over the course of their grant and serve as their advisor and main liaison to the American Journalism Project.
